About
Zhang's work explores the evolution from a rational, deterministic worldview to a more fluid engagement with uncertainty, subjectivity, and computational perception. Rooted in scientific and philosophical inquiry, the artist’s practice integrates geometry, algorithmic systems, and rule-based aesthetics with intuitive gestures and improvisation. Drawing from concepts in quantum mechanics, Taoism, and pragmatist philosophy, the work interrogates the role of perception—both human and machine—in shaping reality. Through projects incorporating AI-generated imagery and QR-based symbols, the artist reflects on the limits of control, the instability of meaning, and the need for alternative ways of seeing.
